So this is really awesome! These are Disney princesses reimagined as disabled and drawn with service dogs. The artist, Arien Smith, drew these in 2017, but they have become viral only recently. Arien features all types of dogs in his portrayals as a way to educate about disabilities and service animals. He also does other dog related art. Arien can be found on Facebook under Royal Service Dogs or the major barkana. Hopefully more artists, or, you know, actual major film/tv/book creators begin to incorporate disabilities and service animals rather than pretending like they don’t exist (but that’s a different rant for a different day, 🙃).

Geordi La Forge and company enter the room, cautiously approaching an unconscious Data on the floor. “Data?” Geordi asks. He crouches over him, hovering worriedly. “Data, can you hear me?” Data opens his eyes, looks around, and fixes his eyes on La Forge. “Geordi?” he asks. “Yeah,” he responds. “May I ask a question?” Geordi looks up at the rest of the gathering, beaming. “I think you just did,” he says. “Quite correct,” Data responds. “Then may I ask another question, after this one?” Still leaning over him, Geordi replies, “You can ask me anything you want.”
I’ve been asked many times what someone should look for when trying to find a good artist. The best way you can do this is to look at their portfolio, whether it’s in a book at their shop or online. If they don’t have good work in their portfolio, they’re probably not good artists.
The shop may be clean, the people there might be nice, and the design they draw up for you might be exactly what you want, but if your artist doesn’t stand up to the points listed above, then you’re going to get a bad tattoo.
It’s okay to walk into a shop, talk with an artist for a while, and decide you don’t want a tattoo from them. Even if the artist has a bad attitude about it or tries to convince you to just let them do it, remember this is going to be on your body for the rest of your life.
